Offshore/onshore hse advisor - Douala

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety:

Have a working knowledge of company’s Health and Safety expectations as defined in the Company Management System.

Advise and actively assist personnel in the application of company safe working practices.

Promotes, participates and coaches personnel in the application of the RISK planning process.

Promotes, participates and coaches personnel in STOP observations, STOP Safety Walks and STOP audits through daily monitoring of operations. Actively monitors daily work processes and raises identified issues with the OIM.

Monitors, coaches and advises on the Permit to Work system. Monitors, coaches and advises on the Management of Change process.

Assists supervisors with the planning and development of HSE Meetings. Participates in daily meetings with the OIM, Department Heads and Client Representative as required. Assists the OIM in incident investigations.

Continually review the Company Management System to identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct periodic self-assessment audits to ensure compliance with company procedures.

Training :

Coordinates and administers ‘On the Job Training’ (OJT) System.

Use the systems available to book and administer on & offshore training for rig based personnel.

Maintains and updates rig personnel’s training records.

Maintains and updates the installation specific training matrix and monitors for compliance.

Monitors compliance of HSE orientation and induction for all personal Conduct rig-based HSE training courses as per training matrix.

Conduct training on the HSE Management System structure and requirements.

Update and maintain HSE and Training bulletin board(s).

Environmental:

Have a working knowledge of company Environmental Management System (EMS) Monitor and assist Management in meeting their objectives as defined within the EMS. Assist the OIM in the investigation of Environmental Incidents.

Participate in internal audits on the installation to ensure compliance with company EMS and Client specific requirements

Personnel:

Meets the training requirements as per the applicable training matrix

Supervise and train the Trainee HSE Advisors (where applicable)

Promote and maintain an effective working relationship and communication with other departments

JOB PROFILE :

High school diploma or equivalent.

work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications which may be substituted in lieu of formal education.

Work experience on an offshore installation.

Consideration shall be given to candidates with HSE experience in associated industries. Proficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively with non-English and English-speaking crews on issues related to HSE.
